Priyadarshini Balasubramanian is a water engineer working in Chicago. She is an ardent lover
of music and has been a student of Carnatic music since she was 5. She has trained with
multiple vocal gurus growing up, with the most recent being Smt Sitamani via Skype lessons
and Smt Rukmini in Chennai before that. Priya loves collaborating with others, be it for casual
sing-alongs in the car or jamming with friends, or being part of music groups such as Texas
A&M’s a cappella group, Swaram. She is also currently learning to play the cajon, a Peruvian
percussion instrument and hopes to be part of a fusion band in the near future.
