Jagannath Ram Garikapaty (turned 13 yrs old in March) born into a family of musicians showed his interest towards music as a toddler and was initiated into Carnatic Music by his grandmother, Smt. S.T.P.Usha Swamy and his mother Smt.Brundavani Srimat Garikapaty.
With divine blessings of Lord Sri Krishna and his ancestors and elders,Jagannath at age of 7, demonstrated his skill in finding 72 Melakartha Ragas with their respective swara sthanas and swarasthanas from ragas as well.
Jagannath received first prizes in all the competitions (Ragalapana, Neraval,Swarakalpana, Krithi and Ragam Tanam Pallavi) recently at prestigious Cleveland Tyagaraja Aradhana Festival this year 2023.
He is currently under tutelage of Sriman Raghavachary garu(Hyderabad Brothers) and Smt.Aiswarya Sankar ji for Carnatic Music Vocal.
He is learning Hindustani Music from Smt. Shashwat Mandàl ji and Mridamgam from Kommajosyula Sadgurucharan garu.
He won in vocal competitions : Ragamala Seattle Hindustani vocal competition 2021,Sewa Youth Talent Contest 2021, Suranjan Passion Hindustani vocal 2021, Sampada vaggeyakara vaibhavam Trinity and Purandaradasa Sankeertana competitions,Sudharnavam -Shravya Season 4 2022 ,Global competition of Dikshitar Kritis conducted by Guruguhaamrta 2022, selected to sing at Youth Festival of Indian Classical Music and Dance organized by Indian Fine Arts Academy of San Diego (IFAASD) 2022.
He has given concerts at TTD Nadaneerajanam, ManiKrishnaswamy Academy concert at Alvas Jamboori festival Mangalore, Sunaadalahari Concert at Chennai and Sangeeta Ksheera Saagaram concert at Hyderabad in December,2022.
Jagan loves his school, Basis Scottsdale and excels in his class. Jagan has passion for learning Samskrutam and fascinated learning Human Anatomy. He has completed 200hr Yoga Teacher Training from Vivekananda Yoga,SanDiego.
At age 10, he was awarded 1st place in Junior Science Bee of Arizona State. He also attended Nationwide Junior Science Bee conducted at MIT,Boston.
