Vijayan Sriram
Vijayan Sriram is a brilliant 8th-grade middle schooler. He is a proud member of both the National Junior
Honor Society and Tri-M National Music Honor Society. Vijayan is learning piano since he was four years
old. He is also learning Mridangam for the last four years. He is part of his school band and plays the
Oboe. He is a proud recipient of State-level honors for two consecutive years by getting selected for
Arizona All-State Honor Band for the 2nd time and this year as the 2nd chair. Adding to his accolades is
his student of the year award for music in his school for his grade level. He is also teaching free piano
lessons to a couple of underserved kids and an adult who cannot afford music lessons. He also learns
Bollywood dance and has performed in many stages in Phoenix, Arizona.
In addition to music and dance, Vijayan learns Vedam and attends YADA’s Thriuppavai workshop. He is
also a regular participant in other YADA initiatives such as DID sessions, Anandothsavam, Margahazhi
Yuva Utsav, etc.
While he loves music, he is equally passionate about cars and hopes to become an automobile engineer.
He enjoys playing Cricket and Fortnite with his family and friends.
